These are good for you.

Are you feeling tired, anxious or depressed? Do you want to be more creative or feel more alive? Would you like a quick health boost? Yes? You need a nature bath.

So go find a tree or two.

Research has indicated that immersing yourself in nature has many benefits for both your mental and physical well-being. 

For instance, a higher number of trees in an area of a city corresponds to  lower prescription rates of antidepressants for the residents.

Spending time in nature may improve your memory, boost your creativity and make you feel more energetic and alive. More is better of course, but even short spells can boost your mood and self-esteem, especially when combined with exercise. Connecting with nature can boost your immune system and may even provide a simple natural treatment for ADHD.

“Often when we feel depleted we reach for a cup of coffee, but research suggests a better way to get energized is to connect with nature,” Professor Richard Ryan, University of Rochester.

Some research even suggests that so called Nature Bathing may even help you fight cancer! So as soon as you finish this article, get out there!

Luckily for those stuck in an endlessly urban environment, you can get some of these benefits with house plants, so add a few to your home or office. Even looking at the colour green can get your creative juices flowing again.

Every one should aim to get twenty minutes of sun and at least twenty minutes of exercise a day. Why not combine these with twenty minutes in a park or wood? Now that would be a health-efficient way to spend twenty minutes!
